Aquatic Ecology Laboratory

Describes the development of an array of 300-gallon tanks and related technology that provides a cost-effective way for instructors to develop "constructed wetlands" to provide students with field-based applications including wastewater treatment, primary production, aquatic ecosystem monitoring and analysis, and cultural eutrophication. Sufficient detail is provided for faculty to develop a similar facility on their campus.
